November 14, 2019 – There comes a time in every man’s life when he has to stop complaining that life is hard. Instead, he must see the hard things as God’s program for basic training. I’m not saying that we want to invite more difficulty into our lives, and recklessly plunge headlong into dangerous situations or needless risks. What I am saying is that rather than complaining, which accomplishes nothing, we need to actively shift our focus from the difficulty to what the difficulty is producing in our lives and what God is doing through it. Every hard time is an opportunity to learn and grow.

Can you trust that God is up to something good when the world around starts to fall apart? Can you trust that God has your best interests in mind when the people around you are hateful or demeaning? Can you trust God? That’s really the question here.
Suck It Up Buttercup doesn’t mean, “just get over it,” but rather be like a sponge and soak it all in. God uses difficulties to grow our character and mature us. We have a choice, hate the process and just get through, or embrace the hard parts of the journey and posture our hearts to receive all that God is doing.

So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So, when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
