Tithes, Offerings, and Generosity
Wow! Should a daily devotional try to tackle such a subject? I mean, come on, this is about making me have happy thoughts and enjoy a little time in my walk with God, right?
Well…No, to be perfectly blunt. This is about growing. What good would a devotional be if it didn’t address our deepest struggles and call us out to build the kind of life habits that God wants to use for his glory. Now, with that said, let’s get to it!

You do well and excel in every respect—in unstoppable faith, in powerful preaching, in revelation knowledge, in your passionate devotion, and in sharing the love we have shown to you. So, make sure that you also excel in grace-filled generosity.
-2 Corinthians 8:7 (TPT)
So, two good things will result from this ministry of giving—the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God. As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ.

Generous giving unlocks something in our hearts, in heaven, and in the hearts of those who receive, or rather, benefit from our gift. In our hearts we unlock a new level of trust in God as our provider which grows our relationship with him. In heaven, we unlock his actual provision. God responds to authentic and cheerful generosity. And with others, which I think is the best part, giving unlocks a new level of praise, as faith becomes sight, and blessed people glorify God as never before. And that, is totally amazing!
