Wasted
What a horrible word! There is absolutely no usage of the word “wasted” that has any positive connotation. I think immediately of something precious slipping through our hands without reaching its full potential. Satan would love for this word to represent all our lives.

March 20, 2019 – Far too often do I find myself at the end of the day looking back on wasted time and opportunity. Even the time with family isn’t necessarily well spent. I want to make a shift in the way I approach everything. I feel drawn to significance. There is something more meaningful right in front of us. I need to make every moment an investment of time, energy, effort and relationship. Intention needs to pervade everything. I want my sons to know they are loved, but even more that every moment of time and every ounce of energy invested in them is absolutely worth it. I want to invite them to share in a life dedicated to God and model such a life for them. We all have a higher calling of pursuing God. We have no room for waste!

Go to the ant, O sluggard, observe her ways and be wise, which, having no chief, officer or ruler, prepares her food in the summer and gathers her provision in the harvest. How long will you lie down, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep? “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest”— Your poverty will come in like a vagabond and your need like an armed man.
-Proverbs 6:6-11 (NASB)
