Cant Get It Out of My Head

March 25, 2019 – Holy Spirit rain, fall down like a flood. So many things related to my walk with God are either principles or feelings. I’m not certain that’s a bad thing, but not sure it’s good either. I want to be able to clearly discern the voice of God in my life. I want to understand more about the Holy Spirit, his filling, and his daily work in my life. I don’t want to feel trapped inside my intellect any longer. If it is difficult for a rich man to enter the Kingdom, then it is also difficult for an intellectual to understand the working of the Holy Spirit. I believe, yet I struggle to believe. I trust that I feel the guidance or prompting of the Spirit, yet I have difficulty trusting that I am actually hearing from God. I have a tendency to fill silence with words of wisdom from my own understanding. God help me! I am desperate to learn to hear and have full confidence that I am hearing from you and walking in your path.

I have to admit that even though I have learned a lot since I wrote that journal entry, this battle between my mind and listening to the Spirit is a daily one. My hope in this struggle is that God wants to talk to me. He wants to comfort me. He wants to give me understanding of his word. The Holy Spirit wants me to experience the fullness of walking with God. He wants that for you, too!
