The Declaration of Dependence
As you know, Son, one of my favorite historical documents is the Declaration of Independence. The wording is so beautiful and so meaningful, it just demands being read, again and again, as a reminder of who we are and where we came from as a nation. Every once in a while, you need to have something like that for your faith as well. Our enemy uses doubt and failure to convince us that we are on our own in this life. We stop praying and we start living to the best of OUR ability. What we need is a declaration of dependence to come back to as a reminder of who we are in Christ. This is mine:

March 27, 2019 – I believe in Jesus. I surrender my life completely to him. I confess my sin and I repent and turn to you, Lord God. I receive you, Jesus, as my Savior and Lord. The work you did on the cross and the victory you demonstrated in your resurrection have made the way for my life to be redeemed. I ask for understanding, wisdom, and the gift of the Holy Spirit to come upon me and fill me and dwell in me now and forever. My life is Yours. I hold nothing back. Baptize me again Lord, in the Holy Spirit. Make me whole. Make me new. Equip me to serve you. Lead me daily to the life you need me to live. All for YOUR glory. AMEN!

Son, I would encourage you to take some time today or this week to write a declaration of dependence of your own. Keep it in a place you can come back to often. Let your heart be stirred by those words again. Let the Spirit well up within you and let the doubt and accusation of the enemy melt away.
